What is a co-ed dorm?
The Arbutus room is our only dorm-style mixed gender room. Beds are individual ‘twin’ size, with five lower beds and two upper bunks.
We try to give guests as much space as feasible and, whenever possible, will not put one man and one woman in the room (unless they are travelling together), by using another room as a temporary dorm.
Do you have off-street parking?
Yes, we have space for 4-5 well-parked cars on the property. Out of respect for our neighbours, please make use of these spots and don’t park on the street.
Can I get a discount?
We are already one of the best value accommodations on the Sunshine Coast, but offer a 10% discount when 7 or more consecutive nights are booked. Please call for off-season monthly rates.
Are you open year round?
Yes, we are open 365 days per year, except when emergencies or Government rules force closure.
Do you have secure bike storage?
We have undercover bike storage at the rear of the property, away from the ‘public eye’, with locking eye bolts for about 6 bikes. It is not enclosed. Up The Creek has multiple loaner bikes at the property, all unlocked, and Roberts Creek is a very safe community with little to no crime.
Can I get an early check-in?
No, sorry, unless by special arrangement. It is important that we have adequate time to clean and air the property and rooms. We are happy for you to drop bags in the reception room if you arrive early by bus or bike. Please though, no use of rooms, bathrooms or kitchen before 4pm.
What about a late check-in?
Late check-ins are okay. Guests should expect a text or email the morning of their booking with information about how to find their room, the washrooms and kitchen etc, and asking for their estimated time of arrival.
Please respond to let us know what time you plan to arrive, and be advised we will ask that you pay via e-transfer prior to arrival.
Can I use the lodge facilities after I check out?
Only if agreed to, guests may use the outdoor area of the lodge for a reasonable amount of time after check-out. Personal items must be removed from rooms and kept with you outside or under the table in the reception area.
How far is it to Roberts Creek village?
1km, less than 1 minute downhill on a bike or in a car, or a 10 minute walk.
Do you have a smoking/toking area?
There is a designated area by the front fence, but not close to the property.
We’re booking as a group. What if we want to party till late?
If your group has booked out the whole lodge, you may use the inside space till whatever time you wish. However, if there are other guests around, we request that you respect that not everyone will want to party all night. Outside quiet time is strictly 11pm, and we expect noise to be reduced before that too, out of respect for our neighbours. Please note that a manager/owner lives on site full time and will enforce these rules.
Do you have lockers?
No need, it’s very safe here. But we’re happy to lock valuables in the staff office if you feel happier with that.
Can I use my sleeping bag?
No, sorry. We provide all linens and duvets, this way we can control cleanliness better
Where should I buy groceries?
There is a general store and health food shop in Roberts Creek village, and supermarkets along Gibsons Road and Highway 101 on your way to Sechelt or Gibsons.
Do you have any free stuff?
Yes, lots. Tea, coffee, towels, sunglasses, umbrellas, loaner bikes, wifi, growlers, shopping bags, earplugs, slippers, endless tourist advice. Just ask the staff!
